Lodging a Claim

Please have the following information ready before submitting:

  • Loss Date and Time
  • Loss Description (including cause and extent of damage)
  • Situation of Loss

Please take photos when an incident occurs.

For Motor:

  • Damage to your vehicle and any other involved
  • Location of the accident, including line markings, signage or traffic lights

For Home/Contents/Business

  • Damaged item/s: Very important, especially if you need to throw the item away – e.g. Food Spoilage.

Home or Business Claim:

By events such as:

  • Fire
  • Storm
  • Flood
  • Explosion
  • Theft/Burglary
  • Malicious Damage
  • Impact by vehicle and other objects
  • Breakage – accidental damage

You Need to:

Take all necessary steps to protect your property. Call the Fire Department, Ambulance, SES or Police. If an accident occurs during business hours, take all steps to evacuate all people at the situation. Providing there is no danger, ensure the safe removal of undamaged goods and company records.

Have a Security Company secure the situation if necessary, and employ an overnight security guard if required.

Report the incident to Citycover, as soon as practicable, but within 24 hours.

Motor Vehicle Claim:

Claims can be registered and instructions given in relation to where to have the vehicle towed or where to obtain a quote and have the vehicle assessed if necessary.

Please have the below information on hand to assist in this process. If you are registered for GST please provide your ABN and your Input Tax Credit percentage.

Please provide the following details:

  • Drivers Name
  • License Number and Expiry Date
  • License Type and Years Held
  • Date of Birth
  • Police Report Number

Never admit liability even if you think you are at fault. Try to obtain as much information from the other driver as possible, such as address, contact phone number and their registration of vehicle.
